Good Saturday evening everyone and welcome to a blast of winter in the spring. The much anticipated blast of snow is working eastward across the state and will bring a swath of accumulating snow overnight into early Sunday.
Here is a look at the slushy snowfall forecast…
Keep in mind this is a spring snowfall and will not have the same look as one you get in the winter. What do I mean by that? Well… the ground is warm and the air temps are marginal for much of the event meaning you will get a lot of melting with the accumulating snows mainly being on elevated and grassy surfaces.
Rain and sleet will be likely this evening… especially the farther south you live before the switch to snow takes place. You can follow the wintry blast here…

Rain arrived in Barbourville about 30-45 mintues ago. Looks like it might be puddling up in the parking lot. Temps have been falling since early afternoon when the dark grey clouds returned after a brief brightening of sun through clouds.
Snowing in Morehead!
Roof Tops & Grassy spots are dusted pretty good here in east Frankfort. Temp 34 light snow falling!
A little break in the action at Valley Station. Temp is down to 36 and is finally holding steady.
wtg Butler Bulldogs, the new basketball powerhouse in Indiana!
1″ or less, Chris?? Boo!
Why do the snow maps say more?
Love ya Chris, but hoping you’re wrong this time. 😉
Move the snow north and put the snow dome in place!
If this storm does not typify this year snowfall for the Louisville area snow to the north & mix to the south. I was hoping for an over performing low but it appears it is not going to happen. This winter reminds me of a Billy D coached basketball team.
The latest radar trends suggest most of the snow will be north of I-64. Come back Spring, this will be just a ankle duster for most in KY.
Nothing at all has happened here. Now I see there’s a big dry slot. Not expecting anything but a dusting at best here. Fine with me.
Looks like it’s all gonna pass well north of the Lexington area. Radar returns seem to be bearing this out…
Sleet here in Meade Co right now.
Light snow in Shelbyville but it isn’t sticking yet.
Blue all around Louisville. Green right over. Imagine that.
I see green over Louisville, but it’s snowing in my back yard. Definitely have a little more than a dusting. My snow dog is enjoying it.
Still nothing here.
definetely sticking in my neighborhood. Half-dollar sized snowflakes!! Guessing 1/2″ so far.

Just a dusting so far in Shelbyville. It is 31.5 degrees with big snowflakes falling now.
Really heavy sleet coming down here in E-town, for the last 15 mins. My deck is white, and its a really loud hiss out there. wowzers.
Boyle County: Midnight, 33* mixed precip.
although the radar looks impressive….there is very little if anything falling here in Fleming Co. Humidity levels still around 68%.
