Good Wednesday everyone. Showers and thunderstorms will become rather common across the bluegrass state over the next few days. This rain will continue to help us out in the drought department and may even put more areas closer to the “normal” range.

A cold front drops southward toward the state later today into Thursday and this will combine with tropical moisture to produce the drops. Rounds of storms will be rolling across the state later today and that will kick into high gear late tonight and last into Thursday and Friday. Torrential rains will be a possibility and this could cause some localized flooding problems.

The GFS shows a good soaking for much of the region through Friday…

Some of the storms over the next few days could be on the strong side with high winds and hail possible. Temps today will hit the 90s outside of the boomers with lower readings to follow for the next several days as clouds and rain do a number on the thermometer.

I have you set to track the boomers of today…
