Good afternoon everyone. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for much of central and eastern Kentucky until 7pm. Damaging winds of 70mph will be possible as a line of storms dives southeastward across the state.
Here’s the watch outline and the latest warnings…
Regional Radar

I will have updates as needed. Have a good evening and take care.

Just had a verge storm over Frankfort, radar was showing deep orange color over my hood and nothing fell from the sky? Again, just like last week, storms train east of I75 and very little to nothing west of 75. This has happened 10 times at least this year!
Yup, EKy always gets the action. In winter, too. It’s not looking good so far for the rest of us needing rain.
Humm, the storms are moving through eastern KY, weird.
looks like a miss for Knox County that should make Bobt happy 🙂
Now storms popping up just south of us, weird.
The storm threat for central ky was way over played for today, models have been way off in forecasting rain in this area, If I was a met I would down play any major chance of rain west of I-75, the pattern for this summer is rain east very little the further west of 75 you live.
had decent storm here in Breathitt co a little while ago. Electric dimmed a few times but thank God did not go off. We got .21″ of rain from the rain we had this morning and the storm. Peak wind gust I measured was 39mph. I think that the overcast skies saved us today. we had a little rain move thru this morning around 930 and it stayed overcast all except for about 30 minutes today which kept instability down and storm intensity down as well.
