Good evening, folks and welcome to the weekend. Things are starting out on a colder than normal note and this is a pattern that shows no signs of ending. The next week won’t be as cold as last week, but things continue to stay below normal, with growing signs Thanksgiving week could turn very cold.
The system coming in here early next week continues to look fairly weak, but can produce a rain or snow shower. This is just getting into the range of the NAM and it shows what I’m talking about Monday into Monday evening…
Again, this system doesn’t look like a big deal, but could be a precursor to a bigger event by the end of next week…
I mentioned how Thanksgiving week is looking colder and colder. The GFS Ensembles show one heck of a deep trough through the end of the month…
The temp anomalies have a crazy cold look considering how much smoothing goes into the maps from this far out…
The analogs coming from the computers are raising eyebrows as we head into December. I’ll show you those with my overnight update.
Enjoy the evening and take care.
Sounds great and the AO looks fairly negative for next week, at least. NAO and PNA are more neutral but not unfavorable, so I would think the AO could help us out with another deep trough. It has only snowed 3 times on my birthday over the years and never more than a good dusting. With my birthday on Turkey Day this year, maybe this will be the year for a nice gift and white holiday:)
The problem is it makes a great set-up for folks north and east of us, but not us. Not seeing a path out of the situation of the cold air arriving too late to accumulate much snow.
It’s starting off cold here this morning at 21 degrees brrr.
