Good Monday everyone and welcome to a busy weather week across Kentucky. The weekend thunderstorms did their thing by putting down a tremendous amount of rain that caused local flooding problems. The week that’s just starting out will feature more scattered storms followed by a taste of early fall pattern change.
The cold front that passed through the state last night is putting the brakes on across Tennessee today. This means a few more showers and thunderstorms… especially across the south and southeast. My gut tells me we could still see another round of heavy rain for some.
Regional radar has ya covered…

Temps today will generally run in the 80s for highs.
The threat for isolated showers and storms should continue this week as the front hangs around southern Kentucky. The GFS is on it…
The pattern looks to undergo a major change by the end of the week into the weekend as a trough digs into the eastern half of the country. The blog has been sniffing this out for the past week and the models are all coming around to it. The European Model has a nice little blast of September…
Highs in the upper 70s and low 80s and lows in the 50s will be possible by the weekend.Looking at those maps, I can almost smell the tailgating! 😉
Have a great Monday and take care.
Yeah…because you sure as heck have nothing to look forward to INSIDE Commonwealth Stadium!!! I’m going to enjoy beating up on you JOKERS this year…in BOTH sports.
If the weekend pans out the way you see it now, that would be perfect! I have been thinking that we would see an early fall & an early winter since summer seemed to start earlier. I guess I need to get a hoodie ready for football games & band competitions! 😀
50s! Woo!!!
Not going to happen, but woo!! I wish it would! Chris is talkin’ now… I’m getting tired of sweating.
The people of KY deserve a long cool early fall, lots of temps in the 70’s. Had my highest ever AC bill this past month 🙁 My wallet needs a break Chris!
Ok i know it is a little early but whats everyone thinking the upcoming winter is gonna bring?
If our streak of extreme weather continues, snow lovers should like the up coming winter, last winter was almost snowless, so we are due in these parts for some good snows?
