Good evening gang. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out until 3am for much of the bluegrass state. This new watch includes Lexington, Covington, Louisville and Bowling Green. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main players with an isolated tornado risk. These storms will also contain deadly lightning and torrential rains.
Here’s a look at the watch outline and the current warnings…

Don’t forget to click on the radar tab to access First Alert Defender. I will be sending out warnings via twitter: @kentuckyweather .
Take care.
**GASP** is that rain actually going to make it to Clay’s Ferry this time?
How’re you feeling about McCreary County? Are you thinking it will have diminished quite a bit by the time it gets here?
That is one mean looking radar.
That’s a scary looking storm. :/ I have a question, Chris, if you could find the time to answer. Will this weaken as it reaches central and Eastern Kentucky? Or will that severe thunderstorm watch be extended?
It appears to be weakening out some right now. Still can’t take it lightly, though.
