Good Sunday, everyone. The weather is getting much better out there today, but the week ahead will take on another stormy look. That will especially be the case for the middle and end of the week when rounds of showers and storms move in.
Our Sunday will find temps in the 50 degree range with a mix of sun and clouds. The clouds, though, may be a little stubborn in some areas. If that’s the case, your temps may not get out of the 40s. If you get some sun, temps may go into the low and mid 50s.
Monday and Tuesday look better for temps, but there is a slight chance for a scattered shower or storm going up.
Temps really ramp it up by Wednesday and Thursday. We should be able to spike into the 70s for at least one day. These mild temps will also come with rounds of showers and storms increasing on Wednesday into Thursday. That will be ahead of a potent storm system in the plains…
Strong storms and heavy rainfall will be possible in our region. Here are the numbers from the GFS through Friday…
I will throw you guys another update later today. Have a great day and take care.
Thanks for your tireless work, Mr Bailey!

Thanks TennMark for posting the above. Years ago, I was in this program in Evansville, Indiana. I would call into the local TV channel and give any observation on cloud rotation, and also would call in snowfall totals. Hope the clean up in Cookeville is progressing well so those Folks get their lives back to normal. May God Bless them all.
Thanks Chris, According to the Kentucky Mesonet : 1.05 inches of cold rain fell in Taylor county all day yesterday. I hope nothing phases this Spring and we have a mild storm season. Just wishful thinking. Stay well everyone and have a quiet Sunday.
It was snowing at a pretty impressive rate for short durations yesterday here in the Chicago area, but due to the warm ground and temperatures several degrees above freezing, there wasn’t much in the way of accumulation… just 0.2 inches at the NWS forecast office in Romeoville in the SW suburbs. That puts us at 22.0 inches for the season. Last year at this time, we had 30.4 inches, which is normal for up to this point in the season here.
I had 2.5 inches of snow for the season. Most of that fell in November on the 12th of 2019. Hopefully, next year maybe we will have a more favorable storm tract for training snowstorms in all areas of Kentucky ? The average snowfall for my area of central Kentucky is around 13 inches. In a snowy Winter we almost always go way over that amount.
