Good Thursday to one and all. We have another awesome weather day in store for the bluegrass state and my advice to you is to go out and play. Mother Nature is about to throw on her ugly face just in time for the first weekend of October.
Our weather is all dolled up out there today with partly sunny skies and temps well into the 70s. A nice little breeze will continue to blow across the state. Friday looks like another nice day overall as our highs return to the 70s. Clouds and winds will increase during the afternoon as a powerhouse cold front works toward us from the west and northwest.
This front will have a nearly 40 degree temp drop behind it. Here’s the NAM temp forecast for late Friday Afternoon…
As the front nears… gusty showers will increase Friday evening and carry us into early Saturday. Winds are going to crank up and our temps till drop into the low and mid 40s by Saturday morning. The front will slow down as it works just to our east and this will allow for a wave of low pressure to develop along the boundary by Saturday night and Sunday morning. This setup may give us some dry hours Saturday afternoon and the NAM shows what I’m talking about…
Winter fans… that setup is thisclose to mixing things up a bit Sunday morning. We have to remember it is early October and that is a BIG strike against anything wintry. But, it still is worth watching over the next few days.
That run of the NAM backs up what the European Model has been saying for days…
Highs Saturday will be dependent on any breaks in the clouds during the afternoon. If we do see some sun… then highs warm into the mid and upper 50s. No sun and you get 50 ish for highs.
Sunday looks to be colder with upper 40s and low 50s on a gusty northwesterly wind. Skies will then clear out by Sunday night and this allows our temps to head into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Two more cold fronts look to dive in here next week with the next one heading in by early Wednesday…
Another cold front should arrive by the end of next week as this well below normal pattern rolls on.
Have a great Thursday and take care.
Sunday mornings storm will be called teaser Ted…I had to throw that out there.
Teaser Ted is good. Or maybe Jocker Jackson. 😉
Seriously though…any guesses on how far south flakes could fly? Not saying KY at all…just in the lower 48 in general…
sounds great! I love the cool weather and I love the rain!
Looks like things are trending slightly warmer for this weekend since Chris did not mention the S work at the 6pm news?
