Good afternoon, folks. Showers and storms continue to increase as a cold front drops in here from the northwest. This front will bring cooler air to the region, but it slows down and eventually stalls to our south. That setup is likely to bring some additional showers and storms our way later in the week.

Today’s showers and storms are coming at us in clusters, but a few boomers could be strong and put down a tremendous amount of rain. Here are your tracking toys for the rest of the day…

September level temps will be with us over the next few days as humidity levels come down. With the front stalling, some leftover showers may show up in the south and southeast on Wednesday.

Moisture comes farther north on Thursday and that means scattered showers and storms will be possible across the entire region. This action really increases Friday into Saturday as low pressure develops along the front and rides to the northeast…

Much of the pattern after this will be dictated by what happens with the tropics and they are in the process of getting busy again. Two systems are likely to get named in the coming days…

What happens with those remains a question mark, but the various models do suggest they get into the Gulf. The Canadian is most aggressive…

The GFS and EURO are weaker, but still take this into the Gulf…
