This post was written last night at the normal time, but somehow never made it online. Hmmm… I need to see what happened. Anyway… here ya go:

Good Monday to one and all. I hope you guys got to enjoy our warm and windy weekend. The air blowing into the state today is much cooler than the stuff of the past few days. While our week kicks off on a fairly calm note, things are going to become much more active by the end of the week.

Morning showers across the north and east will push off to our east as skies become partly sunny. Highs today will range from the upper 50s to low 60s. Winds will still gust up, but won’t compare to the weekend wind.

Temps later tonight dip back into the upper 30s under clear skies. Tuesday will see readings back into the low and mid 60s with more sunshine a good bet. Wednesday looks to be similar to what we had this past Saturday as a blast of wind and warmth surges in. Temps should hit the 70s.

A cold front will swing into the state Wednesday night and Thursday morning with a line of gusty showers and thunderstorms. You can see this well on the NAM…

That front is being pushed by a major dip in the jet stream across the plains states. A cut off upper level low will deepen and bobble its way across the midwest into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. You will literally see a different solution by each model run with how they handle this cut off. That’s just how it works as those things kinda have a mind of their own. I continue to smell what the European Model is cookin’…

These types of setups usually are good for producing a variety of weather. You will get a prolonged period of gusty winds to go along with increasingly colder temps, on and off showers and periods of sun. If the core of the upper low can come a smidge farther southward, then we could talk about something else showing up on the scene… especially in the high mountains of the Appalachian Mountains.

Have a wonderful Monday and take care.
