Good evening everyone. The threat for severe weather is on the increase for the western half of the bluegrass state. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for much of that area until 2am CDT. Here’s a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings.
Hit up the radar tab at the top of the page to track the storms down to street level. I will send out updates and warning via twitter.
Have a great evening and take care.
Thanks CB for keeping your western KY friends informed 🙂
As CB tweeted earlier, extreme western KY is also under a tornado watch. Goes to show the Oct/Nov period is somewhat of a secondary severe t-storm/tornado season for our area.
At this moment, there are numerous tornado warnings for western Tennessee, including the Memphis area.
Although the Storm Prediction Center feels the storms will tend to be less tornadic as the storms march east, still need to be on guard with things like working weather alert radios. People in mobile homes need to have a more substantial place to evacuate to in case of a tornado warning.
Even without tornadoes, there will still be the risk of strong damaging winds.
Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been CANCELED!!! Boy that didn’t take long!!
Yep, and the Tornado Watch for the far western KY counties has been canceled as well.
Much of western TN remains under tornado and severe t-storm watches, so western KY counties along the TN line should not totally let down their guard just yet. Still a risk of some strong damaging winds, heavy rain, lightning.
