Good evening everyone. I want to remind all of you about a wonderful event taking place tonight on WKYT, CWKYT, WYMT and other stations on the Big Blue Network. It’s called Big Blue Nation Cares and it’s a telethon to raise money for the American Red Cross and victims of Superstorm Sandy.
I have the pleasure of hosting this event with UK Basketball Coach John Calipari, Dave Baker and other folks from WKYT. The entire Kentucky basketball team will be here taking part and answering your phone calls. Here’s the official statement from WKYT on tonight’s telethon:
Kentucky basketball coach, John Calipari, and the Wildcats will be at WKYT on Wednesday working a fund-raising telethon for the hurricane victims in the New York area. Coach Cal encourages everyone to donate what they can, and there will be many prizes for those who go the extra mile in their giving.
The big prize is a Harley-Davidson motorcycle!!! The motorcycle will go to one of the first 500 folks to donate $200 (or more) and will be auctioned over a 24 hour period on-line. But, there are many more items for UK fans to win by their donations to the Big Blue Nation Cares Telethon. Also two tickets to the Barnstable-Brown Derby Eve Gala will be auctioned on-line. Other items that will be among those possible to win with certain donation amounts include:
Anyone donating $20 or more will be eligible for a drawing on or about November 19 to receive two Lower arena UK Basketball Game tickets to four games and 10 Framed posters signed by Coach Cal.
Spread the word and let’s show how much Big Blue Nation Cares!
Take care.
