Good evening, everyone. Another round of light snow is moving in here and will impact the northern half of the state from late evening into Tuesday morning. This will cause slick travel to develop for areas along and north of Interstate 64.
Here’s where a Winter Weather Advisory is out as of this writing…
That should be moved down to include those counties along Interstate 64.
That’s going to be a very narrow band of snow, so it will be interesting to see exactly where it sets up. Farther south, its plain old rain.
The Hi Res NAM shows this band well…
The NAM has it…
So does the GFS…
Notice how all three models are farther south than where the Winter Weather Advisory is.
Flurries and a few snow showers will then be possible early Wednesday as a quick shot of cold comes back in.
The next system zips through the Tennessee Valley on Thursday and may bring some showers across the southern half of the state…
Here are your radars to follow the action in from the west…
Have a good one and take care.
They issued winter weather advisories in Indiana this morning and all day the models came in weaker and further south during the day. I looked like I had a shot at 1-2″ this morning, now I’ll be lucky to see a dusting. I can’t complain though after picking up a total of 2.2″ inches in total this weekend here in south-central Indiana. My season total is up to 4.3″ which is still over 4 inches less than Lexington has for the season.
It has not been a good year for counties along the Ohio River.
RIP winter
