Good Saturday, folks.  It’s no ordinary Saturday, it’s the first Saturday in May and that’s also known as Kentucky Derby Day. While the weather is looking great for our Derby Weekend, the pattern next week into Mother’s Day Weekend isn’t looking so hot. Storms look to usher in another spring chill.

Today stumbles out of the gate with some frost across central and eastern Kentucky but looks to cross the finish line in strong fashion as highs hit the 70s.

We are into the upper 70s to around 80 for Sunday as rounds of showers and thunderstorms begin to roll in by evening from the southwest. This kicks off  rounds of showers and storms into the first half of next week…

The pattern after this looks like one straight out of the winter months. Watch how much of a dip in the jet stream shows up across the eastern half of the country late this week into next weekend…

That’s absolutely absurd to see this time of year and is close to bringing more than a few showers into the high ground…

The EURO is notoriously too warm with temps, but it has frosty cold numbers next weekend…

SATURDAY MORNING

SUNDAY MORNING

The amazing part about this is we had similar temps last year at the same exact time. 👀

2020 is quickly becoming the top analog as we roll closer to summer.

Enjoy your Derby Day and take care.
