Good Monday to one and all. If you’re like me and you’re sick and tired of this nasty chilly spring pattern… the forecast for this week is going to continue to bring you down. It’s ANOTHER much colder than normal spring week in the bluegrass state. I’m searching for some normal spring warmth and I may be able to find something for you guys next week. Maybe. 🤷‍♂️

Today features low clouds trying to break, but there’s still the chance for a leftover shower early on in the southeast. Another shower chance shows up from the northwest this evening into tonight and you’re regional radar has you set to find whatever is out there…

As mentioned, temps this week continue to run on the absurd side and that continues into, at least, the start of the weekend. Look at how far below normal the numbers are…

There’s the chance for another morning or two to show up in the frosty mid and upper 30s. Timing those is tricky and all about how much clearing any one night sky will see. Another weak system working to our south by the end of the week may also throw a few clouds and showers back in here.

Is there any hope for something that looks like May in Kentucky? The EURO Ensembles continue to point toward next week as being much milder. Here’s the average temp departure from May 17-23…

The Control run of the EURO Ensembles are even milder…

The GFS Ensembles for that same time period aren’t quite as warm, but show us heading in the right direction…

This feels like some of those winters we used to have when every snow or cold blast was always “next week”. 😋

Make it a great Monday and take care.
