Good Friday, folks. We are rolling into the weekend on a very nice weather note, but a little bit of normal summertime steam is pushing in here for the weekend. This will be accompanied by thunderstorms showing up late in the weekend. Looking deeper down the road, toasty temps make another run at us next week, but another trough looks to cut them off at the pass.
Our day starts with temps in the upper 50s across the eastern half of the state with low and middle 60s in the west. Afternoon temps hit the low and middle 80s east, with upper 80s to near 90 across the west.
Saturday is a really toasty day in western Kentucky as the numbers reach the upper 80s and low 90s. Humidity levels make it feel closer to 100 with a heat index. The numbers are much cooler in the east. There is also the smallest chance for a storm to go up, especially in the west.
Storm chances start to increase Saturday night into Sunday as a cold front approaches from the northwest. A few clusters of storms will likely dive in here through the start of next week. You can see these storm clusters on the GFS…
Toasty temps make another run by the middle of the week, but thunderstorms and a trough are going to try and take care of that for the closing days of the month into the beginning of August…
The Ensembles are also signaling a return of the eastern trough…

A quick check on the tropics shows a system that has a chance to develop off the southeastern coast…
Have a fantastic Friday and take care.
Not bad. I could use a little rain at my homestead.
Best chance of any showers in my area of central Kentucky comes Monday, and then the “HEAT IS ON.”
Seems like it’s going to be a long time before we see any Autumn weather.
The potential tropical system off the Southeast coast bears watching over the next few days could turn into the Gulf ?
