Good Sunday to one and all. We have a weak cold front dropping into the region today and it’s bringing a few thunderstorms into the mix. This is a cold front in name only as temps remain toasty into the middle of the new week, before another front arrives and takes us back into a familiar temperature pattern late in the week.
Temps out there today are back into upper 80s for many with western Kentucky topping the low 90s in some spots. Humidity levels will add to the the sweat factor.
As the front drops closer, a few clusters of storms will go up, especially this afternoon and evening. This is when we have a low-end risk for a few strong to severe storms…

Gusty winds are the primary threat.
A few showers and storms linger tonight into Monday with the greatest concentration across the south.
Temps will continue to stay steamy into the middle of the week and Lexington may finally hit 90 for the first time this month. As fast as we turn steamy, our familiar pattern featuring a trough in the east returns by the end of the week. This transition may fire off some pretty good thunderstorms…

Make it a great day and take care.

Autumn weather can’t be too far off unless La Nina decides to kick in early and prolong our Summer weather through the Autumn months ?
I hope that doesn’t happen Schroeder. I love fall weather.
I’ve always looked forward to Autumn with the frosty mornings and bright and cool Sunny days and the anticipation of a Snowy Winter ahead.
I would like to see some rain today.
I think you have a better chance for showers in Louisville than we have here in Taylor county ?
I was just out for a short walk and the dew point and humidity have really risen since yesterday.
I hope Chris is right and we get some relief later in the week.
