Good Friday to one and all. It’s another awesome weather day across the Commonwealth as our early fall feel continues. The nice weather will actually roll through the weekend and into early next week as temps start to climb some. That’s when the pattern gets more active.
Temps to start our Friday are in the upper 40s and low 50s. Afternoon readings are mainly in the 70s with a mostly sunny sky. Soak. It. Up.
The weekend starts in the 50s Saturday morning with afternoon readings in the upper 70s to low 80s. Sunday finds the temps a little warmer with 80-85 for many.
Low and middle 80s will be common into the first half of next week as we hang on to the sunny skies.
At the same time we are enjoying some more awesome weather, the tropics are popping. Check out all the action being tracked by the National Hurricane Center…

The system going into the Gulf needs to be watched in the coming week and some of that moisture may get drawn northward into a front making a run at us…
You can also see how another system tries to develop off the southeast coast. Looks busy!
I’ve been talking more and more about some of the seasonal forecast models for late fall and winter over the past few weeks. The new run of the EURO seasonal has quite the wintry look for November and December. This is a model that can’t see troughs or cold air, but it’s picking up on what a lot of the other models have been indicating…
NOVEMBER
DECEMBER
One has to love the looks of that ridge up the west coast and into Alaska.
Make it a great day and take care.
I love the boring weather.
Tropics getting active again could bring Summer weather back, but this is to be expected. I just hope we have a nice colorful Autumn season ?
As far as this coming Winter season I would rather see much above normal precipitation in our Western States with Snowfall much above normal in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and in the Northern and Central Rocky Mountains. These areas need this weather type more than we do here in the Mid and Eastern areas of the Country.
I wish we all could get a Snowy Winter, but that we know won’t happen. The latest forecast for ENSO this Winter is a return to a weak La Nina. That may or may not have much effect on our Fall and Winter weather ?
Just for interest I checked out the current weather conditions in Barrow, Alaska. Temperature is 36 degrees F. with areas of snow cover ranging from 15 to 24 inches. WOW !!!

The above goes with my first post.
While tracking Hurricane Larry, I learned that Southeast Greenland may receive over 100 inches of Snow from this Tropical Cyclone Larry. Never heard of this occurring in the past that a Tropical Storm would bring Snow to Greenland !
I guess this is part of the Earth’s warming cycle we are in ?
How come this Snow event can’t happen here in the Ohio Valley. LOL
