Good Sunday to one and all. Showers and storms are much more widespread out there today and this is a sign of things to come. A slow-moving upper level low is moving our way and will hang around into the week ahead. Rounds of showers and storms will put down more than a month’s worth of rain for some during the week ahead.

Showers and storms out there today are more widespread across central and eastern Kentucky than the west. Some of the storms may even be on the strong side and the SPC has a low-end severe risk for parts of the state…

Additional showers and storms will be noted on Monday and will show up across some of the same areas as today. The models continue to hit some pretty good rainfall totals through tomorrow…

The upper low we’ve been talking about will then hang tough around the region through the rest of the upcoming week. No, it’s not raining the entire week, but rounds of showers and storms will keep coming at us. We get a good view of this on the GFS…

While the overall pattern continues to skew milder than normal over the next few weeks, the later half of the month may wind up a different story. I’ve been showing the GFS Extended a lot lately because it’s fun and it can give us some clues to how things progress. It runs once a day and the new run goes through November 5th and continues the trend of trying to spit out early season flakes in our part of the world…

Another reason I like to show those kinds of maps? To irritate the weather trolls around this region. 😉😜

I leave you with your Sunday storm tracking tools…
