Good Wednesday to one and all. It’s a windy and dry evening out there, but a Thanksgiving Day cold front is going to change that up in a hurry. This front brings chilly rains, gusty winds and crashing temps our way. Oh yea, it’s also likely to fire up a few festive flakes Thursday night and Friday morning.
Rain is rolling toward western Kentucky right now and will overspread the state tonight into Thanksgiving. This is a very wet holiday taking shape. Winds are also very gusty and may reach 40mph at times ahead of our front.
Temps crash behind it and that’s when we are likely to have a few flurries or snow showers during this time. You can see this showing up on the future radar from the Hi Res NAM from 7pm Thanksgiving through NOON Friday…
The HRRR during the same time is showing a similar look…
Temps hit the 20s by Friday morning and only top out in the 30s. Winds make it feel MUCH colder. The Hi Res NAM shows wind chills reaching the low and middle teens by Friday morning…
The next system due in for Sunday and Monday continues to show up a little differently on each model run. The latest EURO shows some light rain and light snow potential as this system swings through…
Milder air will likely follow that up for a few before we see that come crashing down behind a cold front later in the first week of December…
Oh and since the video didn’t post this morning, here’s your Planes, Trains and Automobiles clip…
I leave you with your radars to track the rain to our west…
Make it a great rest of the day and take care.
Happy Thanksgiving Chris and all of Kentucky Weather Center fans.
