Good evening, folks. I wanted to drop by for a quick update as your friendly weatherdude is trying to enjoy a pretty quiet day watching sports. The overall pattern remains unchanged from my earlier thoughts, but I’m still here for you guys. 🙃
As expected, our day started with bitterly cold numbers…
Bitterly cold temps this morning with our first below zero numbers of the winter. Clark county had the coldest temp in the state on the Kentucky Mesonet. #kywx pic.twitter.com/0dYIwVbk3N

The Sunday clipper is still mainly to our north, but can drop a period of light snow and flurries into parts of central and eastern Kentucky. Here are the models most enthusiastic about those chances…
Again, this isn’t a big deal.
The Tuesday system continues to look separated enough to prevent a full blown system to impact our region. A band of some light snow is still possible for Tuesday…
A similar setup is with us later in the week. Can we get much more of a merger between northern stream energy and a system moving across the south? It’s gonna be close…
Have a great rest of the day and take care.
I think any warm ups will be brief through mid February, and I think we will continue to have Snow chances from time to time. I just hope we don’t have Spring weather in February as this would bring plants out of their dormancy. If it did happen I would hope it would last without devastating freezes.
