Good Monday to one and all. It’s another cold day with some flakes flying across the region, but the focus is on a much bigger system rolling our way later this week. This can bring everything from strong storms to some winter weather to our region.
Let’s begin with today and roll forward. Morning light snow and flurries may cause a few travel issues for parts of central and eastern Kentucky. Once this moves away, cold winds make the low and middle 30s feel more like the low and middle 20s.
Milder winds kick in for Tuesday as temps hit the 50s for many with some low 60s in the west.
Those 60s take over on Wednesday as clouds increase ahead of our mid-week storm system. The models are giving us different signals, but the one coming from the GFS is concerning as it places our region in the severe storms zone…
The wind gusts showing up from the GFS indicate the severe storms potential…
The Canadian Model has a much colder look which presses everything much farther south and gives us heavy rain to winter weather…
The EURO is more of a cross between the two, but it has trended toward the GFS…
The longer range continues to look active with much above normal precipitation in our region through the next 2 weeks…
I will have another update later today. Until then, I leave you with your early Monday light snow tracking toys…

Have a good one and take care.
Great more overcast days.
The Bengals gave a great effort against the Rams yesterday for sure. If they can upgrade their offensive line for next season so Burrow doesn’t get sacked so much, they can advance deep in the playoffs again.
All eyes here are on a possible major winter storm for the Chicago area late Wednesday into Thursday.
I’m a BENGALS FAN, and have been for more than fifty years. I saw the entire Super Bowl Game and I was sure they would WIN the Game. Both teams played Well, but I was disappointed at the very end. That’s Life.
I think the Storm for Thursday will be more of a Wind Event for my area of Kentucky. The next fourteen days does not indicate any Snowfall for my area, so my Guess is that exciting part of Winter is Over ?
I recorded a little over a Foot of Snow for the entire Season, which is above average for my area.
