Good afternoon, folks. I wanted to drop by for a very quick update on the potent system rolling across the region through the evening hours. This is bringing high winds, the threat for severe storms and some flooding issues with it.
The flooding issue is turning into a little bigger deal than I thought with several areas picking up more than 3″ of rain so far. This has been across western and central Kentucky, but the local flooding issue spreads east this evening.
Winds have already hit 50mph for some areas and will continue to climb ahead of the front.
The line of strong to severe storms will intensify as it moves through central Kentucky early this evening. Damaging wind continues to be the main threat. Here’s the latest Severe Weather Outlook from the SPC…
Temps crash with some flakes behind this later tonight.
As usual, I have you all set to track the severe weather. Our exclusive interactive radar also features live storm chaser video streams, so be sure to check that out…
