Good Thursday, everyone. We have a very mild day taking shape across the region as we start to turn our attention to the next system rolling in here. This arrives later Friday with an increase in showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong.

As always, we begin with the precious present. Highs today are in the upper 60s to around 70 with a mix of sun and clouds.

Low pressure works out of the Mississippi Valley toward the Great Lakes. This is a slow-move that drags a cold front through here Friday night. Ahead of this, temps surge into the 65-70 degree range with showers and storms increasing from west to east during the afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could be strong and the Storm Prediction Center has a low-end risk for a few severe storms during this time…

Much colder winds will blow behind this on Saturday as clouds and lingering showers hang tough…

Highs may not get out of the low and middle 40s for some…

Better weather moves in on Sunday as slow clearing takes place. Highs reach the upper 50s to mid 60s.

70 degree temps come early next week ahead of another storm system rumbling in with showers and storms by Tuesday and Wednesday…

This will usher in colder air as a deepening trough shows up across the eastern half of the country. The Ensembles are strongly going in that direction later next week…

Those same Ensembles are also suggest we have not seen the last of the snowflakes. Here’s where it thinks some flakes can fly over the next two weeks…

As a reminder, we had 1″-2″ of snow last year on April 21st. I would hope the “it won’t snow” crowd have taken enough L’s this winter, but you just never know with some people. 😉

Make it a great day and take care.
