Good evening, folks. We continue to track Ian as it gets ready to strengthen back into a Hurricane and head toward South Carolina. This storm will impact central and eastern Kentucky over the weekend and may bring heavy rain to the east.
As mentioned, Ian will slam into areas near Charleston, South Carolina on Friday. From there, this heads northwest toward the southern Appalachian Mountains. You can see just how close the NHC track has to bringing the center of what’s left of Ian into southeastern Kentucky…
This will likely bring heavy rain into the eastern third of the state wit a sharp cutoff on the western edge. Here are my latest thoughts…
Areas of eastern Kentucky may pick up 1″-3″ of rain and that may be enough to cause some local issues.
