Good Saturday to one and all. Our much colder than normal fall continues as we end the growing this weekend. This is coming a little earlier than normal with a killing frost and light freeze showing up for many.

This is a pattern that has had no problem bringing us stout cold shots over the past 3 weeks and I think it has a lot left in the tank. There are even some interesting signals showing up later this month.

Let’s start with today and hit the fast-forward button.

Our Saturday begins with a killing frost and even a light freeze for some. Areas in the east and southeast may have a little fog to deal with, keeping temps up just a bit. Highs today won’t get to 60 for some.

Tonight is when temps drop into the upper 20s and low 30s statewide. That’s when the light freeze really shows up. Highs Sunday afternoon range from the upper 50s to middle 60s with another amazing fall sky.

Thermometers recover in a big way into early next week as we get ready for a big fall storm system that’s set to impact our region later Wednesday and Thursday. As expected, the models are coming in line of a deeper system with the EURO now showing a major storm system…

That kind of look could include strong storms with very windy weather. The EURO is also spitting out some hefty rains…

Check out the cold air surging in behind this…

The longer range EURO ESNSEMBLES are already hinting at another deep trough to follow that one up…

As I’ve mentioned, there are some interesting signals showing up later this month into early November. I’m going to talk more about those signals with my next update.

Have a great Saturday and take care.
