Good evening, everyone. It’s a frigid start to a frigid weekend, but the focus of the forecast going forward continues to be on Thanksgiving Week and weekend. The likelihood of a disruptive storm system is increasing for the big holiday weekend.

You guys know all about the cold for the weekend, so there’s nothing I can add to it at this point. It’s frigid.

Temps rebound early next week with a weak system making a run at us on Tuesday. Most of the moisture with this likely stays south, but it may be a close call in the west and south. The EURO is even showing a touch of a mix…

That’s kind of a ‘meh’ look for me right now.

The next system is not so ‘meh’. Odds favor a major amplification of the jet stream in the eastern half of the country and we are slowly seeing the models finally coming into agreement on this, even with the usual deviations.

The latest EURO has a monster system…

Here’s what the surface looks like with a deep storm system cranking up…

The Canadian Model had zero storm system before the morning run, but it is finally seeing this potential…

The GFS continues to jump on too much northern energy and is too progressive…

I’ve made no bones about the potential with this setup. I continue to see a storm that brings rain and wind in here for Thanksgiving with a turn to colder with snow chances by Friday into the weekend.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
