Good evening, folks. I have a limited amount of time, but I wanted to make sure I dropped by for your regular evening update. Of course, that means this post will be way longer than I intend it to be out of the gate.
Temps out there tonight are likely to reach 10-15 in many spots with a few locations possibly hitting the high single digits for the first time this cold season. These kinds of temps are incredibly hard to do this time of year. To make it even more impressive, we have a bare ground!
The extreme cold finally eases by Monday and Tuesday. The busy travel day on Wednesday looks great with clouds increasing and temps in the 50s.
That brings us to the super long Thanksgiving weekend and a potent, disruptive storm system for the eastern half of the country.
Regardless of models, I’ve tried to read the pattern and offer up my thoughts on it. My thought for a week now as been for a big storm system that starts with rain around here and ends with falling temps and, at least, some snow.
The latest EURO continues to show our big system. Take a look at this DEEP trough swinging through here…
That produces our rain on the front end and wraparound snows behind it…
The EURO Control run has a very similar look upstairs…
I’ll have your full update, including a Thanksgiving week breakdown coming up later tonight.
Make it a good one and take care.
