Good evening, folks. The weather out there today is exactly what the wind weary residents of Kentucky need. This calm weather will be with us for the next few days as we slowly transition into a more winter looking setup.
Temps are in the 60s for Sunday and make a run into the 70s for Monday. Skies will be partly sunny both days.
A couple of showers and storms will be possible with a weak front arriving Tuesday and Wednesday.
The setup is there for a much bigger storm system to impact us by Friday into the following weekend. This system looks different on each model run, but the cold air coming behind it is pretty stout as blocking shows back up.
The weekend system looks like this on the GFS…
That unlocks a well below normal pattern that the Ensembles have been all over for a while now. The operational models like the GFS are now on it…
The Ensembles have also been seeing snow chances and so does the GFS…
Enjoy the rest of the day and take care.
Thanks for the update Chris.
My power has been restored after a 28½ hour outage. My barometer has finally recovered after recording a low of 29.01 in/hg. My hat is of to the utility workers who toiled throughout the night to restore power, a job made far more difficult by the fact that in many cases, falling trees and branches would cut the same line in multiple locations. And their job is far from over:

Glad your power is back on Joe! I wonder if Schroeder has got his back on??
