Good Thursday, everyone. That system working through the Mississippi Valley is bringing a few showers into parts of the state today. This happens as the overall pattern slowly becomes much more active over the next week and change.
Today’s showers are out there, especially across the western half of the state. One or two of these may sneak into central Kentucky, but I’m not holding my breath on that. Farther east, a few showers working against the grain may show up. The greatest chance is across the southeast.
In between all this is a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.
Here are your radars to follow whatever shower is out there today…
The system developing along and just off the southeastern coast continues to look like a potent system. It’s one the National Hurricane Center is watching for possible development…
This may be a tropical or subtropical system but it’s likely to stay on the other side of the Appalachians…

This low means we catch a strong northwest wind flow setting up late Friday through Saturday…
Gusts of 20-25mph will be possible during this time.
That same flow also brings another nice brand of air with it.
This sets the stage for our pattern to get MUCH more active next week as an upper level low, or a series of upper level systems, work into the region…
Rounds of rain will be possible during this time and there’s a chance for us to finally cash in on some beneficial rainfall.
If we take a light-hearted look at the EURO Weeklies snowfall forecast through the start of November, we find the model run showing the chance for flakes…
Tis’ almost the season!!! ❄️☃️
Have a terrific Thursday and take care.
Thanks Chris. Interesting what’s going on in the southwest Atlantic. Reminds me of an early Nor’ easter. Hopefully, we will see a few showers sometime today ? Winds tomorrow, as dry as it is are not welcome. Could spread Wildfires if they occur. The Snowmaps you posted look more like what you would expect in a La Nina year. Years back I’ve seen some sizeable Snows in November, but there were few.
