Good Wednesday, gang. The forecast over the next few days is full of the same thing… the threat for showers and thunderstorms and temps into the 70s to near 80 degrees. That will change up in a big way for the upcoming weekend and that change may be ushered in by strong or severe thunderstorms.
Today’s forecast… scattered storms and temps in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Any storm may be strong with heavy rain and small hail possible.
Thursday’s Forecast… see above.
One cold front makes a run at us on Friday and this is likely to give us more widespread showers and thunderstorms. This setup may bring the threat for severe storms into the bluegrass state. That is certainly something to keep a close eye on over the next few days.
A secondary cold front will arrive on the scene by late Saturday into Saturday night. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will fire up along and ahead of this front. The big story will be the push of cold air surging in behind it. This will drop our Sunday temps into the upper 50s and low 60s for highs.
The GFS continues to show frosty cold temps early next week…
If those numbers are right… or close to being right… record lows are in jeopardy.
The cold blast won’t stick around too long as warmer air moves in by the middle of next week. Mid 80s by then? That warm up shows up well on the European Model…
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
How severe are we talking here?
Could swore the rainy and cool this week was blackberry winter. But it may be this weekend is blackberry winter. Shoyld be bout the last of the cold spells. Wont be long that mid 80s and low 90s be common temps and we will be waiting for fall to cool things down.
Chris, was listening to 102.7 we rock and heard you giving the forcast on there. Was cool to hear you on radio. I hear brandon robinson on our local station a lot.
This weather stinks…I am ready for pretty blue skies and gentle breezes…bring on late spring/early summer weather!
Another .50 in. Of rain in Frankfort today, brings us around 3 inches since Saturday, I hope this wet spring isn’t followed up with a dry summer, we shall see??
Well my garden is ready. But too wet to plant. Hailed here at 6:00 this evening. Come on warm weather…my pool awaits to be opened.
