Good Tuesday, everyone and thanks for dropping by KWC. Temperatures are on the rise over the next few days and this will mean it will feel a lot more like it should for this time of year. Let’s not get spoiled by the warm weather party… another surge of cold air is on the way by the end of the weekend and that may set us up for a late season frost.

Temps today hit the upper 60s to low 70s across the bluegrass state. The slow moving area of low pressure will still have an impact on our weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms. These may be similar to the ones that fired up yesterday and produce heavy rain and some small hail.

Temps from Wednesday through Friday surge into the 70s and may flirt with 80 degrees. Humidity levels will also increase and combine with a weak boundary just to our north. The end result will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. The best chance looks to be from Thursday evening through Saturday.

The GFS shows the potential for some decent rainfall during through the weekend…

GFS 2

Some of the storms may be on the strong or severe side by the end of the week.

Another powerhouse of a cold front will dive in here this weekend and bring a late season blast of cold air. The GFS continues to show a pretty good threat for frost…

GFS 3

Temps by Monday morning may challenge record lows across much of our region. Green Thumbs… you are on alert.

This is a quick shot of cold and temps a few days later may soar well into the 80s.

Have a great day and take care.
