Good Tuesday, everyone and thanks for dropping by KWC. Temperatures are on the rise over the next few days and this will mean it will feel a lot more like it should for this time of year. Let’s not get spoiled by the warm weather party… another surge of cold air is on the way by the end of the weekend and that may set us up for a late season frost.
Temps today hit the upper 60s to low 70s across the bluegrass state. The slow moving area of low pressure will still have an impact on our weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms. These may be similar to the ones that fired up yesterday and produce heavy rain and some small hail.
Temps from Wednesday through Friday surge into the 70s and may flirt with 80 degrees. Humidity levels will also increase and combine with a weak boundary just to our north. The end result will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. The best chance looks to be from Thursday evening through Saturday.
The GFS shows the potential for some decent rainfall during through the weekend…
Some of the storms may be on the strong or severe side by the end of the week.
Another powerhouse of a cold front will dive in here this weekend and bring a late season blast of cold air. The GFS continues to show a pretty good threat for frost…
Temps by Monday morning may challenge record lows across much of our region. Green Thumbs… you are on alert.
This is a quick shot of cold and temps a few days later may soar well into the 80s.
Have a great day and take care.
Hopefully we don’t get into the 90’s yet, I’m not ready for that, probably never will be….. BRING ON THE COLD AND SNOW Jk.
That’s it! I moving to Mexico! So tired of the cold air!
Maybe it will snow NEXT WEEK!
Yes, followed by 100 degree heat.
As several of us on this blog has stated, ugly cold spring will head straight into summer heat, Chris is seeing it now after this next cold spell!
I’ll take the heat at this point, had enough cold clammy weather!
It’s near 70 now and partly cloudy…..I love the way the temp feels now. No cooler or warmer that this 🙂
I really want to know how people are complaining this is a cold pattern in Central Kentucky. April was ABOVE normal and may has been ABOVE normal so far. Wet and cloudy, yes, but cold–not for the past 37 days at least.
In fact, I’d be willing to bet that May ends up ABOVE normal and spring only slightly below normal, and that is only because of a cold March. April and May will end up above normal in Lexington.
I think the complaining has to do more with lack of sunshine and that a cold shot seems to show up on a weekly basis just like clock work. I know weather is not perfect, but we are in dire need of a dry sunny weekend and maybe a week with more than 3 consecutive days of nice weather. Been a weird start to 2013.
