Good evening, everyone. As expected, the low clouds and drizzle did a number on temps across central and eastern Kentucky. Now we turn our attention to the Thanksgiving Holiday week and weekend as a busy pattern takes shape.
This busy pattern kicks off with a cold front moving across the state with showers and even a rumble of thunder. The best chance for this is late Monday afternoon through the early morning hours of Tuesday…
Gusty winds will be noted with this front as cold air crashes back in. Check out the wind chill forecast from the NAM that goes from 4pm Monday through 7am Tuesday…
The stage is then set for a potent storm system to roll through the Tennessee Valley or lower Ohio Valley late Wednesday through Friday. This brings rain and some snow into the region and will be followed up by another potential flake maker later in the weekend.
The GFS continues to see our system better and better and is really close to a full blown rain/mix to wet snow maker for Thanksgiving. This animation starts on Wednesday and goes through early the following Monday…![]()
The EURO is much more wound up and farther north with rain ending as some snow showers Thanksgiving night into Black Friday. It also shows the second system later in the holiday weekend…
I’ll see you guys back here for the full update later tonight. Enjoy the rest of the evening and take care.
