Good afternoon, everyone. Another light snow maker is on the way for Monday and Monday night and it’s showing up a little better as we get closer. From there, several systems drop in from the northwest as shots of arctic air keep surging southward.
Before we look ahead, let’s look back at our round of snow from last night. I highlighted the sweet spot being along the Interstate 64 corridor from Louisville to Lexington and Mother Nature played along nicely.
A general 1″-3″ was noted in these areas…
That 3″ amount was from yours truly…
Finished with 3” of snow in the Andover area of Lexington. #kywx pic.twitter.com/14LLClxTAo

The light snow maker coming in from northwest to southeast arrives Monday and takes us through Monday night with the chance for some lake effect snow showers or flurries lingering into early Tuesday in the east.
Here’s a quick look at the areas likely to be impacted…
That’s kind of a First Call, but it isn’t. I’m probably going to have to make one for you guys this evening, though.
I like what the new experimental model known as the RRFS is doing…
Here’s what it’s showing with snowfall…
Notice is has some streaks around 1″ showing up. I’m not ready to jump on that just yet, but I’m not too far away from it.
The pattern after this is going to continue to be handled very poorly by the operational models. They’re going to struggle on specifics and will do so in a big way for another day or two.
The latest EURO goes from this Wednesday through December 14th and I’m only showing it to illustrate all the systems dropping in here from the northwest…
The model, and all models, will flip around with how they handle each system.
I’ll update things late this evening, so check back. I leave you with your Kentucky Weather radars to follow any flakes in the region…
Enjoy the rest of your day and take care.
Hopefully WKY fares better this winter in the snow dept and I won’t have to proclaim RIP snow.
Here in far western ky looks like we may miss the next one as well. Shall see, its a long winter . I just hope this early cold and snow chances doesn’t flip to milder January
