Good Sunday evening. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for much of western Kentucky until 9pm CDT. Large hail and damaging winds are the main issues of the evening. Here’s a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings…

Additional rounds of showers and storms continue to develop across the rest of the state. These are putting down a tremendous amount of rain and lightning. This could lead to some localized high water issues.

Have a great evening and take care.

Thanks-you Chris for the update. Have a wonderful evening!
On to the College World Series. Beat those Hoosiers,Go Cards!
Looks like west ky is in the sweet spot this year for all the rain, not much of anything in Frankfort area again, fades away as it approaches this area!
Almost a solid t-storm squall line now. It’s roughly from Brandenburg KY to almost the Tennessee/Mississippi line! No warnings from this line at the moment. A decent lightning show approaching me here near Nashville.
Good news is all severe t-storm watches in our area have been allowed to expire. SPC said in Mesoscale Discussions that new watches were unlikely at this point. Not that there can’t be some localized flooding issues and strong if not severe winds. Also, admire but be careful of the lightning; roughly 70 people in this country lose their lives to lighting each year.
Grrr, what happened to the “n” in lightning?!
“roughly 70 people in this country lose their lives to lightning each year”>/i>
It’s better than seeing people say “lightening” all the time. #spellcheck
