And the GFS…
The EURO Weeklies continue to show this very active pattern taking us through the middle of March. The total precipitation forecast from the average of around 100 members looks like this…
That puts the bullseye of above normal precipitation on top of us…
For those asking if winter is over… No, it’s not. We will likely have several more snowfalls into March and I will be shocked if we don’t have another winter storm threat or two.
The rains came and washed the grossness away…. I don’t have a gauge here so I just go by what it rained at KLEX since it’s relatively close to me… I think it was right at 1.40 inches.
Thanks Chris. Rainfall total for Maple in the past 48 hours : 2.83 “. As far as the weather this past January, it was very cold and dry here in Maple. One morning low of -3. Snowfall total was about 6”. Now waiting for a high heating bill. Ready for Spring to begin, without the usual severe weather outbreaks.
The warm front has come through here in Bowling Green, and the temperature has risen from a low of 48°F at midnight to the current reading of 61°F. Over the past 24 hours my PWS in central Warren County has recorded 3.24 inches of rain, the first precip we’ve received in 13 days. Since we did not have an insulating layer of snow, the ground was frozen, leading to areawide ponding of water and local flooding .
Now we can dry out just a bit and enjoy a brief bit of comfort. Thumbs down on those EURO weeklies.
Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood, mister Rogers line
