Good evening, gang. Rounds of strong and severe thunderstorms continue to work across the state tonight. These storms are putting on an amazing light show with around 10,000 lightning strikes being reported in 15 minute time periods.
The storms will continue to dump torrential rainfall and will continue to pose an increased flash flood risk into the overnight hours. Please keep an eye on creeks and streams and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.
Damaging winds will continue to be possible… especially across western and southern Kentucky.

This 2nd storm seems to be lasting a L O N G time in northwest Lex……..A few really close lightning strikes and extreme rain.
lots of lightning, heave rain and some decent wind gusts here in Southern Breathitt. Electric has blinked a few times pray it stays on.
behind the bowling green stuff is just heavy rain…. Gonna be a downpour type night for southern Kentucky.
Third storm to hit Danville in the last 6 hours. Plenty of rain today.
