Good afternoon everyone. I don’t have a ton of time right now… so let’s go ahead and get down to business about the snows moving in over the next few days.

Extreme southern Kentucky got things started off this morning with an inch or two in several counties. I did have a tweet from someone in Bell county saying they had close to 5″ of fresh snow. Most of the heavy snows stayed south of us just as we expected. Now we await a system moving in from the west that will spread snow from west to east later tonight into Tuesday.

The snow maps look pretty similar to what we had out yesterday. The highest totals with the system tonight through Tuesday night will be across the north with lower totals in the south…

Most of the region is under a Winter Weather Advisory for this event with far northern Kentucky under a Winter Storm Warning. I will get a map of that on later this afternoon once everything is finalized from the folks at the NWS offices.

I have to say I am impressed with the wraparound snows for Wednesday into Thursday… especially in the east and southeast. This will be a high ratio event as very cold temps will be pushing in behind our departing storm. Here is the new forecast…

One a side note… the comments section has been getting a little chippy of late. Let’s play nice as the blog has been through all this before and we have to nip it in the bud before things get too wild and crazy. To use a quote from the movie Old School… “You’ve come a long way since the days of Frank The Tank and we don’t want him coming back.”  Oh wait… I remember how well that one worked out…

Do you think KFC is still open?

More updates to follow later today so be sure to check back. Have a great afternoon and take care.
