Good Tuesday, everyone. Showers and thunderstorms have been very common over the past few days and we have a few more rounds on the way today. This action is ahead of a cold front dropping in from the northwest. It’s the first of two cold fronts pushing through over the next several days. The air behind these fronts will have a definite September feel.

Showers and storms today may pack a bit of a punch for some areas. The Storm Prediction Center is watching for the possibility of some strong or severe storms. Here’s what you need to track this threat…

Damaging wind is the main threat from today’s storms.

Much cooler air moves in for Wednesday as temps struggle to get much above 80 degrees for highs. Humidity levels will come down with a mix of sun and clouds.

Isolated storms and 80s return for Thursday into Friday as we turn our attention to the next front that arrives this weekend…

That front will likely touch off more strong thunderstorms that put down torrential rains on Saturday. The big news is what’s coming in behind it. Check out the temps from the GFS…

GFS 2The European Model backs those numbers up with highs not getting out of the 70s and lows in the 50s. Of course, the blog was on this cool down a few weeks ago. 🙂

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
