Good Sunday my fellow weather weenies. We have one heck of a weather pattern going on across our part of the world and it looks to carry us into early August. Before we get there… record low temps and possible record rainfall are on the menu before we close out the month of July.
Temps to start today will be down into record territory for much of the region. Low and mid 50s will be likely for central and western parts of the state. The east may have a little bit of cloud cover holding readings up a few degrees. Skies today will be partly sunny with highs in the low and mid 70s.
Records will likely fall Monday morning as temps dive into the low 50s. Some of the colder spots could drop all the way into the upper 40s. Highs will return to the 70s as some high clouds sneak in from the west and southwest. Those high clouds will be ahead of an area of low pressure that moves across the region by later Tuesday into Wednesday. That will bring heavy rain and storms our way. The European Model…
That could be a 1″-3″ rainfall for some areas as we close out July. This would be enough to boost most cities into or near the top spot of July rainfall records.
Temps will rebound by the end of the week with a scattering of showers and storms. That trend continues into the weekend before another HUGE dip develops in the jet stream by early the following week…
Wow… that could mean another round of record temps.
Remember the weekly temp forecasts from the CFS model from a few weeks ago? It was all over this cool pattern and is showing it rolling on into the middle of August…
Have a sensational Sunday and take care.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I had to do that.
Dew points in the 40s right now scattered across the state…in July…in Kentucky. I think that deserves all of those exclamation marks.
Record temperature tied this morning at Covington:
THE LOW TEMPERATURE THIS MORNING AT THE CINCINNATI NORTHERN KENTUCKY
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAS 53 DEGREES. THIS TIES THE RECORD LOW FOR
JULY 28TH…53 DEGREES SET BACK IN 1962 AND 1920.
Let’s see if more records are touched tonight. If not, CB would have some ‘splainin to do. 😉
I hope we don’t get August weather in September ??
I love the cool, but I hope this fall dries out.
It was 51 at my house in Sadieville this AM. Fall has started a month early, I guess.
There’s something I can’t recall seeing outside of the mountain west in the lower 48 in July–a frost advisory for tonight for Northern Minnesota!
I know, it’s crazy! we’re in the heart of summer dealing with frosts. It might get as low as 30 degrees over there!
Winter is coming.
Best feeling Late July day I can remember in a very long time, please bring more!
Tell fall to wait its Turn”!!! We have 1month of summer then Indian summer.GO AWAY COLD WEATHER ITS NOT TIME…..!!!!
Loving the low humidity and lower temperatures here in Richmond, VA. Accuweather says the first week of August looks to have cooler than normal temps also. 🙂 The best part of summer is that autumn follows it. I’m sure by the middle of August we will warm back up. I just don’t like the humidity!
