The east may have a little bit of cloud cover holding readings up a few degrees. Skies today will be partly sunny with highs in the low and mid 70s.

Records will likely fall Monday morning as temps dive into the low 50s. Some of the colder spots could drop all the way into the upper 40s. Highs will return to the 70s as some high clouds sneak in from the west and southwest. That could be a 1″-3″ rainfall for some areas as we close out July. This would be enough to boost most cities into or near the top spot of July rainfall records.

Temps will rebound by the end of the week with a scattering of showers and storms. That trend continues into the weekend before another HUGE dip develops in the jet stream by early the following week…

Wow… that could mean another round of record temps.

Remember the weekly temp forecasts from the CFS model from a few weeks ago? It was all over this cool pattern and is showing it rolling on into the middle of August…GFS 3

Have a sensational Sunday and take care.
