Good Monday, folks. We are kicking off the new week with record lows likely falling across the bluegrass state. This cool pattern is straight out of late September and has even prompted frost advisories across the northern part of the country. Yes… this is July!
Our day will start with many thermometers between 50 and 55 degrees with some upper 40s likely. Numerous record lows should be set this morning. To say this cool blast is out of the ordinary would be an understatement. Temps Sunday could only get into the low and mid 70s for highs… with full sun. Most highs in the 70 during the summer occur because of clouds and rain.
Temps today will be a bit milder than Sunday, but much of the area will struggle to get out of the 70s again. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny.
Clouds will increase on Tuesday as a weak area of low pressure will work across the region into the middle of the week…
Showers and thunderstorms will accompany this low and will increase from west to east later Tuesday into Wednesday. The European Model continues to show some decent rains by Tuesday night…
Locally heavy rains of 1″-3″ will be possible during this time. It should also keep our temps running on the cooler than normal side of things.
We will spike it up into the middle 80s by the end of the week with an isolated storm possible. The threat for showers and storms will increase over the weekend as another blast of cool air begins to push back into the eastern half of the country…
Anybody wanna talk about the upcoming fall and winter? The more you ask for it, the more likely I am to throw some tidbits out there. 😉
Make it a great Monday and take care.
Don’t talk about it, I want to be surprised. jk
Chris could we please talk about the upcoming winter I am so ready let the talking begin…..
I know ………..I don’t see why not……….I mean, in January I heard so many “bring on spring” quotes that it seems only fair to start talking about winter in late July……….:)
I’d love to hear a little about the upcoming winter.
Come on I want to hear about snow my family’s favorite season..
I want to hear about fall and winter. If all this moisture stays around we might have some good snows.
I’ve heard of Christmas in July, so HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!! CB let’s talk about winter.
I am curious. Do you anticipate an early Fall arrival (last half of Sept) or later (like mid Oct)? It seems our Falls have been arriving later. We get an early teaser with the trees but peak color hasn’t been until close to Halloween and the colors quite dull. I live in Louisville. I am planning my Fall vacation time. Any thoughts?
If we start talking about it now we’ll be sick of the topic by January. I think I will focus on appreciating the here and now- this is glorious weather!
Agree. This is what happened last year.
Yes, what are you thinking?
Yes talk about winter
Yes! Give us hints!
Yes I want to hear about fall and winter! There are already some changing leaves in my backyard! Do you think we will have a pretty fall this year? Last year the colors were gorgeous!
Alright, I’ll bite! What’s the scuttlebutt on the upcoming winter?
51 in Lawrenceburg yesterday (7/28)
52 today (7/29)
It is time…
Yes please. Tell us about fall and winter.
Yes, I live in New Jersey, tell me how the winter will be this year….
Yes
Please tell me about fall/winter. I would make for great discussion.
Bring it on. I want to know how our fall festivals are going to fair this year.
I would like to know more about the upcoming winter. I agree with MarkLex, about the ‘bring on spring’ quotes in Jan. lol.
will we have snow on Halloween again this year???????
Well, numerous record lows did go down this morning. Credit where it’s due CB. BUT I don’t care to read about the fall/winter weather as of yet.
Speaking of autumn weather, college football is only about a month away and shortly afterwards the NFL :).
But if you can’t wait to see the pigskin flying, a reminder that the Canadian Football League season is already in full swing ;). If your cable/satellite does not get TSN (Canada’s version of ESPN), CFL games are easy to pull up on livestream via TSN/ESPN website. Just think, while we here may still be enjoying nice fall weather in early November, a CFL game in Winnipeg may already be playing in whiteout conditions!
