Good Wednesday to one and all. The month of July is wrapping up on a wet note with scattered showers and thunderstorms working eastward across the commonwealth. August is just hours away from starting and I can’t find anything that resembles hot weather for the next few weeks.
The showers and storms of today are in response to an area of low pressure working through the Ohio Valley. This will deliver locally heavy rains to some areas, but will also give us several dry hours. You can follow the action on regional radar…
Temps today will stay in the… drumroll please… 70s! Are you really surprised by that fact?
Thursday will see a scattered shower or thunderstorm going back up as a weak front slips our way from the northwest. Temps tomorrow will head toward the upper 70s and low 80s.
The pattern this weekend into early next week goes toward one producing rounds of showers and thunderstorms rolling in from the northwest…
That is a familiar pattern and will begin to produce those storms as early as late Friday evening…
With July wrapping up… I will be looking at past years featuring similar weather to this one. That may give us an indication of what the pattern holds for the upcoming fall. I will share those thoughts in the next few days.
Have a great day and take care.
The warm dry weather isn’t expected until December.
Sorry Chris, it’s impossible to look at past data with a pattern that has been similar to ours and jump to the future of that year to see what ours will be like. I thought you knew this and I’m in no way against you, I just won’t believe the forecast, though it is still certainly possible.
here is a link to an article on the website iceagenow.info refering to Chris and his blog entry of record KY lows! http://iceagenow.info/2013/07/kentucky-record-temps-menu/
.40 in. Of rain in Frankfort over nite, if we get no more rain today my part of town will be right at 10 inches for the month, WOW
Weather what more can you say.got to be the hardest job in the world.
Certainly an unusual day. A cool 68 with drizzle all afternoon in Perry Co. Much more like the last day of September.
Just noticed that is NOT the case Glasgow and west with heat index around 90! A tale of two halves.
You got that right! Here in Nashville TN, it’s very humid (along with being warm with a few t-showers). Had to turn the AC back on after we had chilly 50s the last few nights.
Looking at the KY Mesonet, there’s a 64 degree dewpoint in northern KY verses a 74 in Warren County (Bowling Green) KY.
Personally I hope this Winter will feature Record Highs and Record low amounts of anything frozen falling to the ground for the pathetic summer we have had.
Are you that mysterious heat miser that shows up on here in the winter??
Felt like an autumn afternoon here in Lawrenceburg. Cool, cloudy, and seems to be dark early (Ok–early by summer standards!)
I was the the lucky gal who planted the lawn seed June 23 and watched it wash out in 3 weeks of rain in Stanford. Ok it’s tilled up again and ready to plant again and now I’m paranoid! How long do I wait to see if this is serious rain or perfect…? When do I plant?
