Good Sunday, weather friends. The final week of August is kicking off with an increase in temperatures across our part of the world. Thermometer readings will be among the hottest of the summer (that doesn’t take much) as we roll through the next several days. With the steam will come the storms and those will play a big impact on daily highs.
Today’s weather looks good with sunny skies and temps in the mid and upper 80s for many. 90 or better will be with us across the west.
Temps for Monday and Tuesday will head close to 90 for the central and east and 90-95 across the west. Humidity levels will increase and isolated storms will be possible.
As we’ve been talking about, the heart of the heat will stay well to our west. This will place us on the cusp of the hot air and in a place where rounds of showers and thunderstorms may get going. The upper flow will be from the northwest and that should cause storms to develop and drop our way from that direction.
The GFS continues to show the greatest threat for the middle and end of the week…
Some of those storms may be on the strong side and we will have to keep a close eye on that possibility. That action will also play a role in how high temps go on those days.
The overall setup continues to point toward the heat ridge slowly heading back toward the western part of the country…
Make it a great day and take care.
Chris do you think we are heading into a patten change that keeps us warmer than normal and maybe a mild winter that what another forecaster is saying….
