Good Sunday, folks. Rounds of big time showers and thunderstorms rolled across the commonwealth on Saturday. These bad boys caused all kinds of problems with flooding rains, high winds, small hail and a lightningย  show that was off the charts.

Guess what we have out there again today? If you guessed the potential for more storms… you are our grand prize winner. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s appropriate that we start out September with storms because that was the theme of the summer. Lexington finished with the 3rd wettest summer on record. Only 1974 and 1992 were wetter.

Let’s hit the high notes and be done with it.

– Clusters of storms will crank up again today and these may cause more problems. High water will be the greatest threat as these storms will bring it. They can dump a quick inch or two in a short amount of time.

– Lightning will be right up there as well as a primary threat. Some of the storms may have high winds and small hail.

– More in the way of storms will be around tonight into Labor Day. That’s when a strong cold front will finally push into the region.

– That front will clean the skies out and cool us down by Tuesday. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s will be a gorgeous thing under partly sunny skies.

– The middle and end of next week will feature temps normal to slightly below normal with mostly dry conditions.

Let’s track some boomers…

Have a great Sunday and take care.
