Good Wednesday, weather lovers. We have a serious case of ugly weather for much of the region over the next few days. Two systems will roll across the state Through Thursday… each will deliver chilly showers and a shot at a few flakes.
A cold rain will be out there today… especially the first half of the day. There is a small chance we could see a wet snowflake mixing in across the north and east. Your weather regional radar..
Temps will likely stay in the 40s for afternoon highs. We may clear the skies for a bit this evening, but another system dives into the area by Thursday morning. This will cause another round of chilly showers to break out. Just like today, a wet snowflake will be possible… especially in the north and east.
Once this gets out of town… watch out. Temps will tank and may approach record levels by Friday morning. Mid 20s will be a strong possibility for Friday and Saturday mornings. Here’s the NAM forecast lows:
A hard freeze will put an end to the growing season around here. Frost will penetrate all the way into the deep south.
Another cold front arrives on the scene by early Sunday. I will have more on that and the changes lurking for Halloween week after I get back from traveling tonight. Have a great one and take care.

Thanks, Chris. May the Lord bless and keep you and your loved ones.
In Him,

Changes……does that mean we’ll be warming up next week??
Snow accumulation in southern Indiana last night, that’s getting close, maybe will get to see some flakes flying soon??
Here in Lexington, its actually raining/sleeting and an occasional tiny snow flake! I see the ice hit the ground and bounce/break! I honestly think it can snow tonight, no accumulations though.
Yup, sleeting at Hamburg in Lex right now.
Today was bone chilling……
I think overcast dark days like today with temps in the 40s feel colder than a bright sunny day with temps in the 20s.
Absolutely!
Sleet on and off all afternoon here in central WV. Very nasty outside.. hovering around 35F. Hoping the pepper plants in my greenhouse make it through the next few days!
Looks like a few places in eastern KY never made it out of the upper 30s with the clouds and winter precip.
A few locals in western KY barely made it to the lower 50s with some sunshine (51 in Calloway County [my wife is a Murrey State graduate] ).
Also 51 here in Nashville with now mostly clear skies.
Geez…. Murray State 😉
Darn. I also meant to say locales, not locals. Guess I’m typing too fast.
Maybe I should have gone to Murrey State…, er Murray State to learn how to spell.;)
.;)

Earliest snow I can remember was October 31st of 1991 when a few inches fell in Owensboro. That started a “long” winter with more than usual cold and snow that seemed to last well into March. We’re long overdue for above average snow!
