Good Saturday, folks. Another wave of low pressure is rolling through the region today, bringing more in the way of showers and thunderstorms. This will be followed by one heck of a backdoor cold front arriving Sunday night.
Today’s showers and storms won’t be constant, but they can bring a lot of lightning and locally heavy rains. A Flood Watch is out across the far east and northeast through this evening…
Temps today will range from the mid 70s to mid 80s, depending on where you are across the Commonwealth.
Saturday is a windy and very warm day with 80s for most, with the 90 possible in the west. This is ahead of an approaching cold front dropping in from the north. This brings some showers and storms Sunday night into early Monday…
It also brings some MUCH cooler air for Monday, especially in central and eastern Kentucky. Highs here will be way down in the 70s while the far southwest hangs near 90…

Lows dropping into the low and mid 50s are a good bet Monday night.
Southwest winds will jack the temps back up to near 90 for the middle of the week. That leads us into a convoluted mess of a pattern for late next week into the following weeks. This happens as the models try their best to spin up something tropical in the Gulf or off the southeastern seaboard, while at the same time try to close off a big upper level system around here.
