Good Thanksgiving evening everyone.  Our strong cold front is now plowing eastward across the state and is causing some wicked weather. Showers and thunderstorms are racing eastward ahead of the front and some of these are on the strong side with very gusty winds.

Notice the blue and pink showing up on the back edge of the rain shield? That is the cold air catching up to it and changing the rain over to a period of snow and sleet. This transition zone will race eastward this evening and overnight meaning everyone gets in on a period of wintry weather at some point into Friday morning. Elevated surfaces may have a coating of sleet and snow as this batch works through later tonight.
