Good Thursday evening everyone. It is full steam ahead toward the big change we have talked about for a few weeks now. We are a week away from this happening and the timing on it all should mean some wild weather for our extended holiday travel period.

The models are all gung ho on the change and look like something I would have drawn up on my own to fit what I have been talking about. Check out the European Model…

Wow! How is THAT for a drastic change?

A few early thoughts on it all…

– We will get in on a very windy and warm pattern from late weekend into early next week as highs reach the 60s.

– This setup means we need to be on guard for some very heavy rains from Tuesday through Wednesday.

– Thanksgiving Day looks see a major low pressure working across the region into the Great Lakes. Should this happen… a dramatic weather day would take shape. We could start out the day in the 50s with wind and rain then quickly fall toward the freezing mark in the afternoon hours. Any leftover moisture then would be in the form of flakes.

– Black Friday will be VERY cold and it could be wintry if we get in on some strong northwesterly winds.

– The cold will hold through the holiday weekend and we will watch for disturbances on the northwesterly flow as these could produce some light snows.

The early start to winter is a week away. I am already looking toward the first few weeks of December and the potential for a bigger storm somewhere across the eastern half of the country.

It might be time to board the Roscoe P. Coldtrain soon.

Take care.
