Highs in the low and mid 60s will be likely during those days. If, for some strange reason, we would see a few more clouds or showers around on Tuesday… highs would be a few degrees cooler. I know… rain is just crazy talk!
Another, more pronounced, shot of chill will be entering the country late in the week into the coming weekend. The models want to only brush our region with this cold blast as it takes aim on the Great Lakes and northeast…
The GFS is a little sharper with the trough digging into the eastern part of the country during this time and leads to a better chance for some rains by later Friday…
Go GFS!
You remember that change to chilly I have been hinting at for the end of October… would you mind if I push that back a week or two into November instead? A Super Typhoon out in the western Pacific is forecast to slam into the Philippines then continue on a westward course over the next few days. A westward moving typhoon in this part of the world is not the best teleconnector to cold air across the eastern part of the United States.
Anyway… if you have a vacation home (I kid) in the Philippines and are interested in the track of Super Typhoon Megi, here is all you need to know…
Thanks to all the fine folks in Manila for using the blog to get their update on Megi. Have a great Sunday and take care.
Ahhh, good hot coffee on a crisp, cool morning. Autumn is beautiful. It’s my favorite season of the year.
Thanks for the update Chris. Have a wonderful day!
Funny how everyone hoots and hollers when X model says what they want to hear, but when it proclaims otherwise, X model is “out to lunch”. 😉
In general, all wx models are like pickem in college football. 50/50. But it’s fun. Im right more than the wx models are it seems. And CB, why you pushing the winter cold back two weeks?? Is that necessary?
That’s not what I got from that. All I got from that is he was rooting for the GFS to bring us some rain. He didn’t say whether or not it was “out to lunch”
Haha.. I agree. It is kind of funny. Truth is, the GFS rocks most of the time…and most of the time it gets hated on.
In any case, it DOES look like business is about to pick up. The jet stream is really going to start wobbling (finally) as we head toward November, and that should translate into some big time storm systems cranking in the midwest. Things look to finally get interesting around here again… after 12 weeks of BLAH.
I sure hope so! If this keeps up, we may not even have a green christmas this year….just a dry grass brown one!
