Good Monday gang… I hope the blog finds you in good shape as we kick off a new work week. The weather this past weekend was nothing short of amazing and today looks to be cut from the same mold. We have some changes coming to our temps this week and some areas may even get in on a few drops of rain.

The weather around here has been pretty boring for the past few months as above normal temps and extremely dry conditions have dominated the pattern. That pattern is showing some serious signs of becoming much more active later this coming weekend into next week. More on that in a bit.

Let’s start with what we have out there today and that is nother warm and dry one. Highs will range from the mid 70s east to low 80s west. Yada Yada Yada

A cold front will slip in here later tonight into early Tuesday and will have a couple of showers with it. The best threat for showers looks to be across our southern counties as a ripple of low pressure moves eastward along the sagging front as it crosses into the Tennessee Valley Tuesday Evening. Cooler temps will move in behind the departing front as highs in the 60s should be common for Tuesday and Wednesday.

A stronger front will swing through the region later Thursday and should be a rain free system… shocking! The core of the cold will be from the Great Lakes into New England, but we will get in on a couple of cold mornings…

Friday should be the cooler of the two days with temps in the low 60s.

The weekend will see a quick warmup as our flow becomes southwesterly as a big low pressure system cranks across the plains states. This will slowly work eastward from Sunday into the first half of next week and will likely be a moisture rich storm as the Gulf of Mexico opens up for business. Here is the GFS with this storm…

Monday Evening

Tuesday Morning

The rains the model is spitting out with this storm would certainly go a long way toward helping us out…

The good news is the GFS has a lot of friends showing something similar in kicking off a more active pattern with this storm.

You guys wanna see something cool? Check this out…

I am thinking of trying the same experiment on a slightly lower budget. Would something like this work instead?

Have a great Monday and take care.
